mothers day 2010...

mothers day 2010 was great! the kids slept in to 530am, then bombarded me with precious home-made gifts and cards - gorgeous! 730am breakfast with my mum and dad at spinnakers at the marina, followed by a movie on my lonesome (favourite kind) then dinner with aaron's mum and dad, at hans cafe - cleo shocked us all by eating a ridiculous amount of special fried rice, lol.

fremantle's maritime museum: far more interesting than i would've thought!

can you imagine how nervous i felt with clumsy max so close to a very steep drop into the swan river???

dad's parents are on the 'new arrivals' wall!

inside a boat, inside the museum...

the famous winged keel on australia II!

aaron, cleo and max trying their hand at ruddering, or winching, whatever it is called.

max and aaron toured the submarine, and on account of his excellent behaviour, max was allowed to 'drive' the (dry-docked) sub!

this is the sub, below - huge!

this shot, below, was taken at the start of the day... by day's end, we were all exhausted, cold and the kids were filled with sand from the little creatures brewery's sandpit... but we were all very happy! a gorgeous family day!

a day at the zoo (01 may 2010)

loved our day at the zoo on may day; the best bit, according to max and his good friend ava, was when the rhino charged at its mate. the other 'best bit' was when the charging rhino did an enormous poo. ah, a day at the zoo with two five year olds brings new perspective to humour.

said rhinos...

and a couple of shots from the last days of april 2010... cardigan weather arrived, albeit briefly! at fifteen months, cleo is more confident with her walking, but still finds crawling faster and a more effective 'means to an end' :)

what made max sooo 'exhausterated'?

answer: surfing with papa!

at the anzac day parade at yanchep national park...

max with the birthday boy, zach , who is now a big three year old!

and cleo doing the reluctant party hat thing with nanny :)

what more could a girl need? sunglasses? check. hand bag and bangles? check. dummy? check check check...

...but how did the easter bunny know we weren't at home, but at nanny and papa's house?

at yanchep national park on the easter weekend... this lovely pic of dad and max.

cleo regularly terrifies us on the swing set... she & max both have the dare-devil gene.

march 2010: stuff we did that did not involve the "W" word... (that's 'wedding' for those in the dark)

getting up to mischief in the cubby house... both max & cleo ended up covered in chalk.

...and such a lovely shot of aaron!

this face of cleo's reminds me of donna, when she used to mimic that girl from the comedy company, who says 'i didn't, i wouldn't...' he he.
max with his cousins beth and zach... icy poles keeping them quiet!

mmm, watermelon icy poles in the pool = summer.

have you ever seen a sweeter dress? i bought this frock online, before cleo was born... alas, it's still too big for her (gapes terribly and she can't move properly) so once she is walking properly, the dress will get another whirl, with tights and a long sleeved top!

... and this next dress in today's parade... a bali buy :)

the many adventures of max rule (feb 2010)

this beast of a lego creation was started by aaron and max, and then fine-tuned by maxi...
