music to my ears

(just quietly; am loving putting finger tips to keyboard and posting in my blog..)

cleo is breaking my heart into a thousand pieces, as she lays asleep in her rocker beside me, letting out glorious little grunts and giggles... it's utterly gorgeous music to my ears!

i appear to be in a particularly sappy state of mind? tonight, with cleo laying on my chest, and max snuggled into my side, we read a book about farm animals and equipment (quick, stifle that yawn!) and i thought, wow, does it get any better than this? i truly felt 'contentment'.

...

my brother lee and his wife syl are visiting perth for a family party this weekend. tomorrow we'll find out if their bubba is a boy or girl - i'm sooooo excited, and cannot believe syl is half-way through this pregnancy, already!

fat

okay, so another post from me before i collect max from kindy... i am back on the weight loss wagon, so now you all know to NOT invite me out for coffee & cake, okay?

as weight watchers worked so well for me last time, i'm back into the weekly weigh-ins & will attend meetings occasionally.

the first week's loss - 1.3kg! brilliant!

second (this) week's - 0.5kg... which is really not too bad, given i ate three (yes, count them - one, two, three) jam donuts on sunday, and over-indulged at jo & chris' wedding feast!

i should be safe for now, as no more weddings nor sticky donutty treats are in my immediate future.

enjoying the gorgeous autumn sunshine

at the park, on the weekend...

trevor the escape artist

this week, i moved max's hermit crab trevor (or is it frank?) from the small orange table, onto a shelf in the laundry, and set up an art station on the table - and max loves it!

to celebrate the change and embrace our inner artist, we did foot & hand prints of cleo and max.... any excuse for max to get mucky, really.

back to the hermit crab: he HATES his containment, and it's actually very sad to watch him pass his days by attempting to escape. scratch 'attempt' as trevor really did escape earlier this week, surviving a one metre fall from the laundry shelf, to the tiled floor :o once this crab eventually dies, i think we'll rethink hermit crabs as pets - it really is too cruel.

max is back into the swing of kindy this week, after 2.5 weeks of holidays... i am not sure who was more relieved that he had 'proper plans' today, me or him? ;)

cleo is 12 weeks old tomorrow: how did THAT happen??? i think she might be going through a growth spurt, as this week, she wants to feed pretty constantly, day & night. tiring!

om

aaron phoned from carnarvon (at 530pm, when he could've guessed i'd be in the thick of the dinner routine *roll eyes*) where he'll sleep overnight, before hitting the road again tomorrow.

max suggested, bless his cotton socks, that we 'get' two more babies... so we each have one to cuddle... this is the second time he has voiced this idea in less than a fortnight... ah, the curious workings of a four year old's mind, eh?

relaxed day; a morning play-date (here) with a girlfriend (mandy) and her two children, then after lunch, a small food shop, ie spent less than $100 <- a miracle, i tells ya!

knowing i wouldn't be getting any assistance from aaron, with the dinner/bath/bed routine tonight, i started the ball rolling with cleo's bath @ 430pm, then fed her, then max, then max's bath. by 630pm, both kids were asleep (yayyayayayay) feeling very zen & organised!

vroooom

cleo is sleeping soundly in her rocker, and max is vrooming cars around my feet. i am on the comp :)

aaron left for a big, long and lonely drive north this morning, in a 24 tonne mack truck. he is headed to karratha, then port hedland, then back to perth... home by sunday, we hope!

whimsy

on a whim, i tonight decided to set up a blog. i don't have an ipod, iphone, mp3, laptop or any other gadgets... but now i have a blog! *insert proud face*

actually, the bit about the 'whim' is not entirely true. i had toyed with the idea for a while now, but deferred, thinking it'd be too tricky to set up this kind of thing, but... surprise! appears that's not the case!

well, this first post has been cut short - baby girl wants a feed. when does she NOT want a feed?! ah, you've got to love the life of an eleven week old, no? life is one long holiday, filled with naps and satisfying dining adventures ;)
